Collaboration Beers
The Colorado Brewers Guild annual Collaboration Fest, held recently, was a celebration of creativity and comradery among Colorado’s broad range of craft brewers. This year, Bruz made three beers for Collab Fest, collaborating with Prost Brewing Company, Brewery Ardennes, and a special collaboration sponsored by Propagate Labs, which provides many of Colorado’s best breweries with brewing yeast. Come into either Bruz taproom soon to try these limited-release beers.
Green Ghost Tripel
Green Ghost Tripel is a collaboration with Brewery Ardennes in upstate New York. It’s a slightly hazy, deep golden color with a dense, creamy off-white head. The aroma prominently features the spicy, floral Grüngeist hops with a solid grainy background and fruity notes. On the palate, the rich malt is balanced by a light bitterness and delicate hop flavors. Fruity notes of passion fruit, ripe peaches and a hint of citrus end up in the crisp mouthfeel and long hoppy, fruity finish. Despite its well-hidden 9.2% alcohol, the overall impression of the beer is bright, clean and very drinkable.
Brewing Jonas Micah Saison
Jonas Micah Saison
Jonas Micah Saison is the collaboration of six different breweries and Propagate Labs’ special Saison yeast strain. It is a clear medium gold with a thick white head. Delicate hop and fruit notes on the nose lead into a grainy and somewhat rustic flavors of Colorado barley and German spelt. Award-winning Colorado Cascade hops give a distinctive classic American flavor to a Belgian-style Saison. Its creamy mouthfeel leads into it dry finish. 7.4% ABV.
Quadzilla Abbey Quadrupel
Quadzilla Abbey Quadrupel is the product of our collaboration with our friends at Prost Brewing Company. The concept for this collab was to take a Bruz recipe for a Belgian-style Quadrupel and brew it using the German brewing process and open fermenters in Prost’s German-style brewery. The result is a big (11.0%) beer that is orange in color with an off-white head. Its fragrant aroma is reminiscent of spicy caramelized bananas. Spice notes of clove, nutmeg and dark cherry enhance the maltiness, light hoppiness and dry finish of this exceptional beer.
All three of these beers are on tap now at both Bruz tasting rooms. Get some tastes now as all of these special beers are very limited releases and won’t be around for long.
Santé!
